Day Three of Sen. McCain’s tour of America’s “Forgotten Places” aka “It’s Time For Action Tour” and where do we the Senator from Arizona? In Inez, Kentucky of course! Despite a population of less than 500 residents, Sen. McCain promises that this stop won’t be his last!
“I want them to know that I will not forget my responsibility to the American people,” McCain said. “I will not make promises I intend to forget and I will not make this my last visit to Inez, Kentucky.”
Truly remarkable! MediaHerd will keep close tabs on Sen. McCain and if he wins in November we will immediately pressure President McCain to make good on his promise because Inez, Kentucky apparently needs a lot of help from American Presidents and Presidential hopefuls.
Why Inez, Kentucky you ask? Mediaherd turns to Sen. McCain’s press release:
On April 24, 1964, President Johnson visited Inez and on the front porch of the Fletcher family’s tar-papered house launched his War on Poverty. He said his administration had “declared war on poverty in all of its forms, in all of its causes, and we intend to drive it underground and win that war.”
Here we are over four (4) decades later and prominent national politicians are still coming to Inez, Kentucky promising help. This leaves MediaHerd deeply disturbed how this reflects on the ability of American presidents to make good on their promises.

Above is photo by Walter Bennett of President Johnson declaring his War on Poverty from Tom Fletcher’s porch in Inez, Kentucky.
Bottom Line: MediaHerd wishes for an article from the media herd about Tom Fletcher’s descendants.
